The sticky toffee pudding (although still yummy) was frozen and prepackaged and just placed in the microwave (or some microwave-like machine). The gf has the fish and chips and I had the haggis pie. The fish was huge, hot and crispy without being soggy anywhere, and the house made tartar sauce just put it over the top. Lovely little pub and the staff were really welcoming and friendly!

The World's End is a traditional Scottish bar set on Edinburgh's historic Royal Mile. However, I was unfortunately sat directly across from the open kitchen and watched as they prepared all the food- everything was frozen or prepackaged and was just heated up in a microwave or by some other means. The only person to stand trial accused of the murders, Angus Sinclair, was acquitted in 2007 in controversial circumstances. Cute, cozy little place.

During the Edinburgh festival most places don't take bookings because of 'No Shows'.

This was the first "real" fish and chips I had ever had and now I can never go back to what they try to pass off in the US. Even in mid afternoon this place was bustling. 9 total tables, so there is a wait and also a lot of turn people away and this was a Wednesday night. Noted that this is a corporate owned pub and many people will have a stigma about that; however, the people make this place. It's a Scottish thing but worth a try.We had a great server with Katy who was quite friendly and a great sense of humor.I really like this location and I think you will too!Get out there and live it...Scotland!

They have THE quintessential fish and chips, perfectly breaded with a hunk of flaky white fish beneath.
